Anyone who has read this blog will realise that I have little respect for Daniel Cassidy. Quite apart from the fact that he was a criminal who spent twelve years on a lecturer’s salary without even a basic bachelor’s degree, and that his own account of his life and work is peppered with details that are very unlikely to be true, the ‘research’ given in his book is abysmal. However, there is another mark of Cassidy’s lack of professionalism in this section, where many of the entries are out of alphabetical order. I have put them in here in the order given in the book. Thus this section of his glossary begins with simollions and goes on to sap. Screw comes before scoop, scut comes before scootch.
